Entry #0: About ME

 Hello everyone, my name is Rygel Perez.  I'm 18 years old and this is my second semester here at GCC.  I'm hoping to transfer to ASU and continue my education there.  I'm Mexican-American, born and raised here in Arizona.  My family came from Mexico and so far have been a huge part of my life.  

Anyways a little bit about me.  First off, I enjoy listening to music and I listen to any genre really, except for country music.  Also, my music playlists vary from timelines so I usually listen to music from the 80s, 90s, 2000s, and the most recent ones.  I also enjoy playing and watching soccer.  It's just something I grew up with and stuck with me for a very long time.  My favorite soccer team is Chelsea, ever since I was kid, I remeber just watching their games and highlights very often, and I still do!  



One of my interests is cars, I've been growing up with cars ever since I was a kid.  I remember playing tons of racing games and watching all The Fast and The Furious movies as a kid, gathering all the car inspiration.  Anyways, it's just something I'm passionate about.  I own a Infiniti G35 and it's a six-speed manual.  I must say this car is so fun to drive and pretty quick but not necesarily fast.  From this passion of cars, I aim to pursue on getting a bachelor's degree for Mechanical Engineering.  I just want to be more involved in the process of building things, specifically in the automotive area.



My goals in life is to be successful and live a good life.  Having a steady job, having a house and just taking life in as it comes.  Also, to help my family and get them a good house to pay them back for what they did for me and all the sacrifices they made for me.

Doug Ducey talking about how Arizona needs more college graduates.  Automatically in his intro, he establishes credibility as a governor, as a husband, and father, that he understands how important education is to each and every college student in Arizona.  He also utilizes pathos by empathizing with parents that getting a college degree is hard, but with his solution, he will help all college students economically.  Also, throughout the article, he establishes logos by utilizing statistics such as how many have a college degree, how many Arizonians have a job, etc.  Gov. Doug Ducey just does a great job of using these three essential rhetorical tools to get his point across. As a student, I think it's great that Gov. Entry #10: Finishing First Year of College

My first year of college is about to come to an end.  I only have roughly about 3 and a half weeks left until my 2nd semester is over and I have to say that it was quite a busy year.  After spending one year here at GCC , I learned a lot about what community college has to offer.  The number one thing is that it's super cheap to attend a community college.  Also, I learned that college is very heavy on the workload.  Back in high school, I remember the workload being a lot less but in college, it's way different.  It took me a while to get used to it, but now it's something casual to do my homework every day of the week.  I learned that classes are tougher than usual, and that to get a good grade, one must be responsible for their effort and turn work in on time. Entry #4: Hiking

  So far I made a huge change in my schedule this semester of college.  With a new schedule comes new struggles but also some free time for yourself.  After a busy first semester of college, I decided to spend more time on myself.  Recently, I've been starting to hike a lot this semester.  After a long day of classes, I always wanted to do something that could release my stress but back then, I never found something that I thoroughly enjoyed.  That's when I came across hiking and I realized hiking has the best of two worlds.  Not only is it a good workout, but walking a trail while watching the scenery is what makes hiking really fun.  Just being able to see nature at its finest.  Seeing the view of the city and especially the sunsets is really the reason why I enjoy hiking.  Anyways, hiking has been helping me maintain my fitness and reducing my stress.  After each hike, I feel like I can take on anything like I acquire more motiva...
