Entry #5: Local Report
An article was written by Gov. Doug Ducey talking about how Arizona needs more college graduates. Automatically in his intro, he establishes credibility as a governor, as a husband, and father, that he understands how important education is to each and every college student in Arizona. He also utilizes pathos by empathizing with parents that getting a college degree is hard, but with his solution, he will help all college students economically. Also, throughout the article, he establishes logos by utilizing statistics such as how many have a college degree, how many Arizonians have a job, etc. Gov. Doug Ducey just does a great job of using these three essential rhetorical tools to get his point across.
As a student, I think it's great that Gov. Doug Ducey is going to fund universities $38 million for resources. I feel like as a student, it's important to be up-to-date on textbooks and also new technological advances such as better projectors, or maybe lab equipment or anything that may be useful to use students in our journey. Although, there is one thing that I wish Gov. Doug Ducey would provide is free community college, as there are some students who might not even be able to afford community college. What happens if a student fails a class, that student has to pay for that class again in order to take it. Maybe a student is able to get a job so he has to take loans in order to enroll in a class. There are many other circumstances students may face but it's really up to Doug Ducey on how he is going to provide a solution. How do you guys feel about his idea on higher education?

Your four new entries look pretty good, Rygel. Your writing flows fairly well, and you have good visual appeal with images and layout. You are developing your content somewhat, but there is still room to analyze further and create more significance for your audience. Keep working the concepts of rhetoric to connect to your audience and keep them engaged. Keep at it!
