Entry #5: Local Report
An article was written by Gov. Doug Ducey talking about how Arizona needs more college graduates. Automatically in his intro, he establishes credibility as a governor, as a husband, and father, that he understands how important education is to each and every college student in Arizona. He also utilizes pathos by empathizing with parents that getting a college degree is hard, but with his solution, he will help all college students economically. Also, throughout the article, he establishes logos by utilizing statistics such as how many have a college degree, how many Arizonians have a job, etc. Gov. Doug Ducey just does a great job of using these three essential rhetorical tools to get his point across. As a student, I think it's great that Gov. Doug Ducey is going to fund universities $38 million for resources. ReplyDeleteHi Rygel, nice post. Firstly yes, community college is very cheap. This is especially true when you begin to compare it to the price of private and out of state colleges. The price of community college makes it possible for students to be able to pay their own tuition with only a part time job. I think that is one of the best benefits of community colleges. Something I wish would be taught in high schools is good study and organization techniques. This would make the transition to college and the workload much smoother. Like you said you went from occasionally having homework to having homework weekly. I feel like senior year of high school shouldn't be harder but should begin to prepare us for the workload that we will have in college.

The layout and organization of your entries overall is easy to follow and engaging. There is room for a bit more visual engagement and some deeper analysis and significance in your discussions.
